Everyone knows that trees provide many benefits; yet, not everyone is aware that those very same trees can pose a risk if ignored. Falling trees can hurt individuals or damage property, such as homes and cars. Neglected trees have also been known to knock down utility lines which cause power outages or even fires. As a land owner you are legally accountable for the care and safety of trees on your property.
Before you begin uprooting the trees on your lot you may want to consider the fact that most trees display symptoms of neglect well before they pose an immediate threat. By having an understanding of what to look for and vesting a few minutes of your time surveying the trees on your lot you are likely to spot the symptoms of dangerous tree syndrome before it is to late. For your convenience we have placed a list of the most common symptoms beneath.
